eh, you'd be better off with a 8.8 but if you don't beat on the 7.5 it should be fine.

Gas mileage will be fine like stated. As long as you don't go around doing burnouts and stuff on the street and beat it off road you should be fine. I would think in some rocky trails or some sticky mud you would snap an axle now and again.

don't waste your money.

go on www.car-part.com and find an 8.8 with 10" drums and 3.08 gears then build it up the way you want with all new bearings and seals.

any 93-09 axle will work.

you should be able to find the said axle for around $100

the 7.5 is a good axle but the stock crosspin is notched and it makes it really weak.

and fyi, the 7.5 uses the same axle shafts as the 28spline 8.8

Told you to get an 8.8 man!

I wish downey would think before he talks sometimes...

I had a 2.5L with 4.56s and 33's and manual trans and I still got 21+ mpg.. With a 3.0 He should get roughly the same as I did if not more.

4.56 gears are perfect for a 3.0 with 33's.

do you have 33"s and 4.56 gears? i dont see how you can comment on them unless you have..

but to the orig. poster, just decide if you want to spend 500bux for gears/install on the 7.5, and If it breaks, it will or it wont, do you want to spend more money on a 8.8 and gears? or just spend 500bux on an 8.8 and hope to get some 4.10 gears factory, and upgrade to 4.56s if you want more power

ha if you were in texas, i would sell you my 8.8 with L/S 4.56 gears and MAC Diff cover hhaha

I hadn't considered this. You wouldn't want to spend lots of money on a 7.5 and then have it crap out. Might it be better to save a little money in the long run by spend more now. I don't know that is up to you.
