It'll swap right in. You'll need to make sure you get enough brake line and such to connect, and I think you'll need a larger master cylinder also for the disc brakes. $750 is a crapload of money though! you could probably buy parts seperately for less if you have an 8.8 and 4.10s already.

yeah thats a total ripoff on price, but the 31 spline and dsc brakes are totally worth the swap.

95 and up exploders all have disc brakes and 31 splnies (some actually have 28 splines actually so check id tags...). look for a little older one and save.

Oh yeah I forgot about the 31 spline vs. 28 spline of rangers. Good thing my Level II will have 31 spline

You need to figure out how to mount shocks, and how to attach the axle to the leafs

the stock explorer leaf perch is on the bottom, putting the axle ontop the leafs (rangers are under the leafs)

make sure it comes with all the brakelines, it just hooks up to the ranger brake line in the middle of the axle, Stock ranger brake master cyclinder will work fine

IMO, that is not worth the price, you can get an older axle, buy a rebuild kit, get it all installed, for under 500 (my goal is under 300)

A guy who's dad was a Ford tech, replaced it for the customer b/c of a gear noise, rebuilt it, guy said there was still a gear noise so they replaced the rear end. He had it for a while to put in his, but never did so put it up for sale, and i got it.

Search any ranger/explorer BB you'll find one for ALOT cheaper than 750. Hell i sold my 28 spline 8.8 with 4.10's and LS for 100$
