You need to be more specific. What codes did you pull from your PCM? Was it an incorrect gear ratio for a certain gear?

If you have gear ratio codes for 2,3,and 4th gear, those codes are saying that your transmission is slipping in those gears. It could be a mechanical or hydraulic failure. Let me look up some information on the ford website. I'll get back with you in a few minutes.

I couldn't find any technical service bulletins relating to that concern. I have seen torn Valve body gaskets that will cause that problem. If the gasket is not torn, you may have some kind of internal leak, such as a seal. I've also seen the center supports cause pressure problems. How many miles do you have on your Ranger?

Well, the transmission either can be repaired or replaced. Tommorow when I get to work I can get an estimate of what it would cost to replace the transmission, parts and labor. As far as repairing ,I couldn't tell you what it would cost. The transmisssion would need to be torn down and inspectected. The reman transmissions that Ford sells comes with a 3 year and 100,000 mile warranty. I let you know by tommorow evening.
