I wouldn't use a Dana 24 tcase, upgrade it to the NP205 and that would be an awesome setup

Wait why does it have a 44 in the rear, I thought all F250's had 60's in the rear? I know all the 70's fords do

read my other post.. thats what i thought, either a 9 inch or dana 60.. depending if its 5 or 8 lug.. but i highly doubt its a d44 in the rear.

Well either its been swapped or he's lying, it should be a D60. My F150 has a 9 in out back, and my F250 has a D60. The only D44's used in 3/4 tons were in the front, my F250 has one

Terrible motor? Where do you get that idea? The 300 I6 is a torquey, darn near indestructible engine if treated right. They even have a lot of potential for HP with a little boost.

Most people I know that have the 300's hate them, then again most people that I know that have old trucks go mudding and offroading a lot.

I wouldn't keep one when I can easily build up a 400 or a 460

zactly, i drove those motors alot, they can handle alot when it's thrown at it. i've never seen one but i know that they can be built pretty stout.

EDIT: if they hate their motors so much, why don't they swap out?

They do, all of them who had them ended up swapping them, I'm talking about bone stock 300's, from the factory they didn't do much at all.

If they would have came with a 4 barrel from the factory, I bet more people would have kept them.

I've seen a couple of built 300 and I agree they can be good motors, but you have to build them to it

300s are probably top 5 best engine ever made........

Might not be fast, might not have a lot of power but damn they last a long *** time!

I'd like to have the truck just the way it is. 300 is a good motor. Had one that had been ran under water and still started up lol

idk if i could hack that truck up id want to restore it and for 700 its tempting, it would be amazing on some 37's with that flat bed ummmmmm but yes that 300 is an amazing engine i still keep my eye out for older f-150's with a 300 for a daily but no luck
