$$ Installed Dual Exhaust $$

HELLA HAPPY!!! Just got my dual exhaust installed today! Although it didnt turn out as loud as I want it...as it breaks in within the next two weeks, it will get louder...I will also be installing a new intake so that will give it a little bit more sound as well...anyone do a snorkel on our Rangers yet? :)

Ill post some pics in a day or two..

Flowmaster 40 Series..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but flowmasters dont really "break in" since it's more less just baffles instead of packing in the muffler right?

Pretty Much EVERY muffler has a 2,000-4,000 mile break in period, depending how you drive.

You'll love it. My boss drives a 05 2wd ranger w/ a 3.0....my exhaust drives him NUTS. In the parking lot i purposely throw it in 4L so I'm at 4000rpms at like 12mph..haha, very funny stuff. I've only heard in real life a couple rangers with exhaust, and in my opinion, mines the loudest and meanest sounding. (HarryTasker aka Arnald, your truck sounds good too)

Hey guys, I have a '05 XLT with the 4.0L and reading your posts is driving me nuts. I think its time I got an exhaust on it. I want to do a Flowmaster 40 with dual outlet and duals straight out the back. But here is my question. Ive been looking on a lot of forums and hear a lot of complaints about the Flowmaster and a loss of power. How true is this? Has anyone felt a difference? My truck is stock, and I plan on putting in a K&N and doing the airbox mod, but thats it. Im torn between the magnaflow and the flowmaster. I really want to get the Flow but don't want any power loss. Also do you guys have any sound clips to listen to? Ive been searching and noone really has a good clip of the 4.0 with a Flow. Thanks for your help.

Flowmaster is good for sound, i guess it takes away from tourque, which is going to take away from your low-end power. Like i said, a muffler for sound. I have a Borla Pro-Xs center/offset muffler and 22x3.5 tips...It is as loud as the flowmaster, but ALOT deeper. The flowmaster has a destinct sound, more throaty than borla, but i really love how deep my Borla is. It dosent take away from the low-end power like flowmaster either, so you'll gain in the power dept. with borla. I am have no regrets on exhaust with my 4.0.

I have a sound clip link in my signature (right click save as) if you'd like to hear it, but i gotta warn you, the sound clip was taken right when the muffler was new and not broke in, it sounds ALOT better now that i have passed the break in period of the pipes/muffler.

Hope that helps ya
