'00 Front End Conversion?

Is it possible to convert the front end of a 2000 Ranger to an '01+ front end? I'm a big fan of the honeycomb grill and headlights on the later Rangers.

This is what I'm talking about.

Yes, yes it is. You'll need a hood, grille, headlights, header panel, and a few other items. Just search in here on front end conversions. They've been done many times before.

Ok that doesn't seem too bad. Anyone know a rough estimate on the cost to do it? And what exactly is the header panel?

you DONT need a hood. you can use the hood off of your 00 if you don't want to buy a hood. i spent all together 160 on my swap and it took 30 minutes to do it. very simple

time to ***** out lol

I kept the 98-00 bumper and valence on truck but i did find a powerdome hood for 100 bucks same color as my truck in great condition so i got it...also modded the headlights thats why they're blacked out

and for reference this is the 01-03 front with my 99 hood on it (crappy cell pic lol)

Nice, I like it! I really want to do this, I'll have to save up some money and hopefully find a lucky deal. Did you buy that stuff new and then get the grille painted or what?

i got the front clip (header panel, grille, grille surround, headlights) for 100 bucks it was black and off of an 03 but i sanded down the grille surround and painted it red with colormatched paint i got at an autobody so all my stuff was used and from a junkyard. Just check out Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and look for parts there...thats where i got my parts except the hood...someone told me about the hood so i went there immediately and got it haha

Nice, yeah i'll have to check it out for sure. I want the hood to, maybe i'll run into a lucky deal like you. It's nice that you found the same color too, how often does that happen?

I found a whole setup on eBay for 200 shipped, only problem is that it doesn't look like they offer a mesh grille all they have is the boring xlt grille like the one I have now...

Woops typo. Let me try and rephrase. Is the header pannel the same for the boring xlt grille and the honeycomb grille. In other words, are there more than one header pannel for the 2001-03? Does that make sense?

No the grilles are interchangeable. The grille itself actually connects to the surround not the headerpanel.

EDIT: I read your post wrong when I first replied... I'm not sure if the bumper will fit or not.

I'm pretty dang sure it will. There is a guy on here with a 98-2000 Ranger with an 04-05 Front bumper on it.
