01+ Ranger BLACK headlights/ Corners?!
Well I have clears that I cracked one anyway, so I thought I would try to toss them in the oven and paint black mod, well no matter what I did I melted both of them, not bad at all, but still you can tell a little. I don't care since they are just some $30 corner lights, but I want the headlights too, but don't wnat to risk it at all. I found these on Ebay, but seems kinda high to me, anyone know of any other lights just like these?

Maybe the oven isn't the solution...
I did a mod very similar to this on my Maxima. I melted 2 headlights before I finally decided that the oven was a bad idea. I boiled up a big pot of water and dropped them in until I could easily pry them apart. They came apart like butter and didn't melt or warp. When it came time to put them back together, I got them as close as I could (there was this nasty black goop on the seems that helped them stick together) and then submerged the seams in the water so they would seal. I've done a few sets this way now and they've turned out perfect. Once they're apart you just clean the inside to get rid of the water spots. And as long as you don't submerge them when you put them back together, everything turns out great. I suppose you could always use a heat gun on the seams during assembly..

i posted these in a forum i while back i really like them as well but cant figure out why you can by the clear ones for half the price then they paint them black they charge you double for them and triple for shipping if they were a little cheaper i would definatly have a set. O well i just had to get the gts headlight covers.

Fair trade for black headlights, though.

I had an old pair of MIG welding gloves that I use when I do the boiling water. As long as you don't leave your hands soaking in there, the water is only pee warm by the time it soaks through the gloves. Once the lights are out of the water they cool off pretty quick. I've had to dip them back in on a few occassions to get them to loosen back up.
The first time I did it I tried to use gardening gloves and dip my hands in there real quick. VERY bad idea.
