I recently upgraded to an 05 4.0 4x4 from my 04 2.3 2x4 and I am considering swapping to a 2006 front bumper and grille since the chrome bumper on it now is starting to rot out. Yet through some research I am finding that there are several pieces other than the valence and the upper cover. I was wondering if anyone has done this and exactly what parts to the bumper I would need. Local scrap yards don't seem to have much. Thanks for anything in advance.

 

Below the upper cover and valance are three items. You have a main crash bar, as well as two impact absorbers on either side of the crash bar. Search Ebay for 2006 bumpers and you should see some blown up images that show the crash bar and the impact absorbers. You'll also need the bolts for the bumper, however you can steal those from your current bumper if you desire.

Be weary, you're looking at a few hundred dollars worth of cheap Chinese repops that don't exactly fit well. If you can afford it, spend the extra bucks for certified parts from a reputable company.

Upon following my own advice, I do not see any blown up diagrams like I did when I bought the parts for my bumper. So the below link is just one of the ads that shows all of the parts you'll need.
