Hey guys,

I just learned the hard way that 06+ Power mirrors do not have the same electrical connectors! I guess somebody on here was BSing me when they told me they did.
I could see where this swap would be a breeze for the manual mirrors, but it was a nightmare with the power mirrors.
I had to cut the connectors off of my 2004 mirrors and wire them onto the 2006 mirrors.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the wires were different colors too ...
Ford just loves to change things from year to year.
I really like the finished product, but it sure was a pain in the a**!

Who told you they were the same? I haven't seen that they are on here before

 

The color codes of the door harness that affect the power mirror are the same in 2006 as on several years prior but the connector between the 2006 door harness and mirror is different from earlier years. Starting in 2007, the door harness color codes also changed compared to 2006-back. What color codes are used on the actual mirror wiring are anybody's guess since they are no doubt sourced by Ford from an outside supplier.

Here's a better picture of the mirrors installed. Now I need to order those 06+ fender badges and find some clear corners. (Does anyone have a set of corners?)

 

I don't care if I'm bringing this back from the dead. Do you have any pointers about which wire goes to what. I'm having a hellll of a time trying to get this done. Nowhere on the site (that I can find) have a write up for wiring the 05 down mirrors to the 06+ Help me!!!!! lol
