my grille emblem looks terrible, last week I went to the stealership and picked up an emblem, I didnt open the package completely till I got home, and it was the smaller emblem for an stx grille, took it back and the parts guy at Ford said if its not an stx grille, then you cant remove the emblem, he said you have to buy the grille. I think he was blowing smoke, what do you guys think?

All 04+ grille emblems mount the same. The emblems themselves are different sizes and styles, but the way they mount is the same. No tape, no nut, just plastic clips.

 

Sounds like you need to speak to the manager at your dealership and get who ever that dink you were talking with a good reaming. I hate when people make crap up instead of just saying they don't know. All emblems can be removed and replaced.

 

Ok, thanks guys, that is kind of what I thought, because I felt the tabs on the back of the grill emblem, I saw the how to btw, but just wanted to make sure that would apply to a non stx grille. I think I will have to pay another visit to Ford, or see about painting mine.
