Checking to see if anyone else is missing the bottom a/c plastic shield cover. I guess it was missing from when I bought the truck. I am not sure if the dealer had took it off or just missing form the factory!!

A lot of guys are missing theres as well, it was probably the dealer that took it off. If you do any offroading its likely to come off on its on. Mine was gone when I got my 04 as well.

 

Mine had it......and I immediately ripped it off! lol.

 

Is this shield for the compressor under-hood? I see a threaded hole with no bolt.

If so, I think mines gone too.

 

I took mine off when I put my skid plate on.

 

I think what you are talking about is only on the 4x4 models... my 99 has one, it hangs down under and behind the front bumper and covers the a/c & radiator. I did about rip the thing off one side crossing a washed out creek to get to my parents house tonight. Not much protection, looks like could cause more damage than good the way it hangs down. Methinks I see a new project to make a metal plate in the near future to replace it.

 

hehe, Mine was probably there sometime.. It's off now though, I can see the threaded hole nice and clean, so it probably happen within the last year to year and a half =)
