2008 questions

I'm going to have to tame the mod bug at least until spring when we buy a house. For now I plan on cranking the t-bar and possibly putting on bfg a/t's

My questions are as follows...

Clear corners, will the pre 2008 ones fit?

Will the explorer OHC and Dome light work?

Will the pre 2008 mirrors bolt on? I'm not a huge fan of the square mirror look.

That's about it for now. I'm gonna replace the rear window with a slider and tint all around. Re install my xm/bluetooth and then try to keep it at that until I can do a Superlift this time instead of a body lift..

Haha. I got rid of the Jeep for a car. I got spooked by the gas price spike. I drove the car for 5k miles and couldn't stand sitting on the street. Picked up the 08 for a good deal with some money down and now I'm comfortable again. If I could turn back time though, I would have never gotten rid of ole lefty. /sniffle

I'm excited that I get to go junk yardin' again though. So many goodies to find!

I'm really hoping to score some seats and a center console. The 60/40 bench console is way too small and I miss my cup holders.

To fit your mirrors on an 05 and older truck, we need to drill the holes out bigger. I assume to run 05 and older mirrors on your truck, you'd need to add washers as a spacer for the bigger hole.

Yes.

Yes.

Maybe.

Good luck with the bucket seats! The 2008's have a sensor in the passenger seat to turn the airbag on and off automatically. If you can figure out how to transfer that into some nice Expo seats... make sure you post a thread on how you did it!

Headlights and corners are the same back to 2001 i beleive

To make the OHC map lights work, you have to tap the map light power into the cig lighter or 12V outlet cause there is only 1 power wire to the stock dome light. (thats the main difference between the 04-06 Rangers)

As for the mirrors, WHY? The '06+ mirrors are the best IMO.

Exactly. Square mirrors on a truck with alot of rounded body lines just doesn't do it for me.

So far today I've scored an OHC plus 2 sensors, a mustang dome light, an auto down module for my drivers door, and a sliding rear window from a 03 xlt. The window installed will be 165 bucks. Not bad considering ford wanted 450 and diamond auto glass wanted 1400!

I like my square mirrors on my 07 they are great. Yeah I have that same sensor in my 07 as well it sucks because mine doesn't work right and shuts off the airbag when friends are sitting in the seat or there is nothing on/in the seat.

Got the dome light and the rear window in. I talked to daddy Griggs last night and I'll be having a mod weekend soon with him to get my OHC done. :)

I'll get pics up by the end of the week. I've been too busy.
