Recently I returned to my 98 XLT to find the front bumper redesigned by a driver using the braille method while backing. Of course he/she didn't stick around.

I've found a 96 bumper/valance setup at a fair price but it's about a 2 hour drive. The seller won't send pics as he's non-tech savvy.

I checked with LMC (and also searched) and found the 96 bumper/brackets are different from the 98.

Has anyone installed a 96 bumper on a 98? Any significant issues?

 

Its not worth it. Look in your area for a 98-00 or a newer one. The newer one will require the mounting brackets as well but will look a lot better.

 

x2 go 98-00 or newer. you'll need the matching brackets too. if u go 98-00 u need those brackets (unless you still have yours) 01-03 u need 01-03 brackets etc...
