Aftermarket Tails on a Stepside

I'm looking to buy some aftermarket tail lights for my 02 ranger, and after looking through ebay I have found a pair I wouldn't mind buying but it clearly states that they will not fit stepside, splashside, & xlt models I thought that all tail lights were the same regardless of stepside or not. I've tried searching but there are soo many threads with tail lights. If anybody has any info please let me know, thanks!

The first person that comes to mind is Seed60. I know the fitment behind the tails is a lil different on the stepside. IIRC you may have to trim a lil behind them. I have depo brand 06's on mine and I was only able to make 3 of the 4 screws fit. Even with only the 3 screws in the tails are not going anywhere.

eBay is typical for that BS. Sellers either have NO clue or just "try" to cover their @ss.

All tails from 93+ will fit. There is the 2 and 3 wire deal with certain years (separate turn signal bulb) but your avatar looks to be an 01+ so you'll just need the two harness style. The step sides are a tight fit and some have had to do some trimming, but I've had two different styles of tail lights on my 01 and I haven't had any issues yet.

My aftermarket tails fit great. Not sure about others, but I think they're all the same.

when i put mine on i had to cut the whole inner lip out to fit them. i only had them for a year and went back to stock. i like the look of tinted tails better now.

The tails for a styleside are the same used in a stepside.

That has nothing to do with the bed, its the cheap improperly shaped taillights.

I have '93 aftermarket style tails in my '04 with the L1224R LED mod. Fits fine.
