Any ideas how to fix this crack?

Got an 06+ XL grille and need to fix the crack so it doesn't look like crap. Any ideas? I was thinking a fiberglass kit, but how would I fix the front after fiberglassing the back?

That stuff is bad ***. I've had it hold good enough that when the plastic was stressed it would break next to the glued joint, not on the glued joint.

If you are gonna sand/repaint, you could maybe try melting it back together... If you're gonna have to buy a new one, it may be worth a shot...

i've heard of places out here that do "plastic welding" not sure how that works and what not... but apparently it looks almost flawless...

Buy some ABS Cement from your local home improvement store. Add it to the crack and try to fill it. Then sand away the excess abs and paint. $3 fix.

It's a really easy fix. And it sticks pretty well because it molds with the existing ABS.

Harbor freight sells a cheap plastic welder ($35), or you can get some epoxy crap that will bond the two.

Plastic Welder is a brand of Epoxy. I think most of the auto parts stores carry it and Wal-mart has it too. If you use it I'd sand the area so it'll stick good.

Use ABS cement

I second the use of ABS cement, that is what your grill is made from, I have repaired dozens of BMW motorcycle panniers using it. "V" out the crack in the back side a little, mix the bits with the standard cement and use it to fill the crack, a little will ooze out both sides of the crack, let it dry overnight and carefully remove the excess. If you have a spare flat piece of ABS, you can reinforce the back of the crack, it won't show when installed.
