I was tryin to install my bed extender this afternoon, and I couldn't get the gromets to screw in to the middle hole... And suggestions or reasons why this could be happening, fyi I got the hardware from the dealership.

 

Just push when screwing them in.
If you did that than just find the correct tap and use the tap to thread the center hole.

I pushed in when I did mine but I had the truck line-x'ed so I don't know if mine was pre-threaded or not.

 

Thanks, yeah when my Dad got home, he used it tap and dye set, and tapped the hole and it went right in!
