Bed Liner Suggestions
Bed Liner Suggestions
New to this forum. Just bought an '02 Ranger, 4.0 liter, supercab. I need a spray-in bed liner. Anyone have any suggestions for a good choice? Heard of Rhino and Line-x but I'm sure there are others. The bed will not have regular heavy use but what I would say as normal use - fire wood, camping gear, fishing gear, mulch, etc. Thanks
Rhino hands down, tough as a rock, you can get a custom thickness on it depending on what you want - and make sure they spray over on the bed edges, works fantastic! I also chose to get one of those back heavy duty mats to protect against heavy weight hitting and knockign out a chunk of Rhino - had it happen last year during winter when a 900lb transformer box slid a bit too fast and knocked a 1"x1" chunk of rhino off... didnt scratch the paint underneath though, so its well worth it!
I had a local place do mine - they're not affiliated with either. In fact, I think they're trying to start up franchises of their product instead. I liked it better than the other two, but a lot of it is personal taste.
Go find a truck that has Rhino and one that has Line-X. In my experience people like one or the other.
As for price - the local place I used was 375 with the rails done - came out to 403 and some change with tax. Line-X quoted me at 600 with rails, and I tried three different Rhino places and none of them would call me back.

Just got a quote from local line-x place $524 for over the rail. Another 179 for the plus treatment which keeps the shine. Still waiting to hear from Rhino. There is a local place that applies Gator liners?.?. Lookin into that too.
Some applications look clean some look nasty... I guess it depends on how many times youve done it but Im also kinda nit picky
...
I have friends with Rhino and Line-X, in my opinion the Line-X always comes out looking better and continues to look better. My buddy had Line-x sprayed in his Colorado 2 years ago and it still looks like it got sprayed yesterday. Can't beat the lifetime warranty either.
Line-X is tougher for sure, but will be more abrasive to whatever you have in your bed. that is the only reason i went with rhino, i carry rafts often and didnt want them to get holes worn in them. I would go Line-X for sure unless you care about the abrasive factor.
