Icon5 Bed Replacement

I have a 2003 Ranger XLT Supercab 4x4 with factory lift. I damaged the bed beyond repair and will be looking for one this weekend. I believe the place has some 2002+ beds but they are from unlifted trucks. I figure as long as its a supercab and same style bed it'll fit. Could use some expert opinions though. Thanks in advance.

As long as it's a 6' box you'll be fine.

Lifts have nothing to do with the bed fitting. Style doesn't either. Main thing you really need to worry about is if it's the 6' bed, or the older 7'. Bring a tape measure with you if you're unsure. Now if you wanted to go from a fleetside to a stepside, you'd have to swap out fuel filler neck and tailgate on your truck, and vice versa. I recommend using air tools to get the old bed off because the bolts are most likely going to be seized up from not being moved. That's how mine are.

1: There's is no such thing as a "factory lift" on these trucks. If they've got torsion bars, they all sit the same.

If you were to consider anything a lift, it's the fact 4x4's have a 2.5" block installed in the back to compensate for the taller front suspension.

2: If you've got a xcab, you've got a 6' bed. They never came any other way. Could actually measure 6.5', but it's known as 6'. Pretty obvious looking at it as well whether it be a shortbox (6') or a longbox (7'). Any 93+ Ranger 6' bed would fit. Just pay attention to if you've got flares or not. That's the only real difference between the beds of the same "styleside" style (flat sides). Flare equipped models have holes for the flares to mount to. Non-flare equipped models don't. Typically flares are found on 4x4's and non-flares are 2wd's.

3: Given your location, look for the best condition bed you can locate. Rust is hell for ya'll living in the 'belt.

Older? They still made the 7' box until the last one rolled off the line for the '12 model year. 7' beds were only offered on reg cab models and always have.

Thanxks for all the info guys. I figured any samestyle 6' bed would work but needed the reassurance. I still have my tailgate, but if I find a nicer one I'll replace it and have the new stuff color matched later. I'll be driving my truck to get the new bed so it'll be easy to see if it's the right size.

What size sockets, wrenches, etc. will I need, because I've never attempted anything this labor intensive on my truck? I'll deff. bring the breaker bar too.
