Hi Guys,

I want to get a black bumper for my '01 XLT 4x4. Will a black one for an Edge or any other compatible year/style bolt up? I can paint it, no prob. I have the chrome and I want to make sure that a black one will bolt up. I want the blacked-out look for my front end.

If you wanna sell that chrome one let me know :) it should bolt up just fine I would think...its the same valance

01-05 uppers and lower valences are all swap acrossable....depending on 2wd vs 4x4/edge. Edges have the same bumper/valence as a xlt 4x4....but painted.

the edge bumper will also have the fenderflare groove while the xlt will not

Incorrect.

01-03 EDGE/XLT 4x4(except value pkg) are all the same bumpers....same psysically. Valences can swap from xlt to edge and vice versa. Textured grey/black vs. smooth painted. Same with the upper bumpers......chrome xlt vs painted EDGE.




RangerGuy....I can't tell by your pics......but there was a red-headed stepchild of a 4x4 XLT......it's often referred to as the "4x4 XLT value package". That had the 2wd XLT bumper on the front. Easiest way to tell the difference between the two.....FOGLIGHTS. Value 4x4's did not come with fog lamps.

Thanks again, thats why I posted here I know theres some variation on bumpers and many other parts. For example, I have the '00 fule filter, lol. I believe strongly in getting as many opinions from you all as I can.

Great idea, Shane! I would be very interested in that. Of course, I will post my "new" black bumper (gonna paint that gray honeycomb grille too) when I get it. I should do a before and after, yeah thats better.
