brush guard for fx4?

I've got an 06 FX4...and i'm lookin for a brush guard that isnt too big, protects the headlights, and doesnt cover my OEM tow hooks....

i'm sure it's been asked, but can anyone point me in the right direction?

I THINK your bumper won't accomodate the supports that go from bumper to grill guard. I believe it's the 06+ bumpers that don't have the bolt location for this. I know I've seen in mentioned here before, at least regarding light tabs and I'm pretty certain they go in the same place.

IF the above is incorrect, manik and westin make grill guards for our trucks, as does warn. The manik and westin look almost, if not, exactly identical. You'll be looking for the Westin 1-piece Sportsman grill guard. I don't know what the manik is called. The warn is called the transformer. Expect to pay around $350-$450 brand new for either I believe. I want to say my "approach angle reducer", aka grill guard, ran me $425. I got the westin 1-piece and ordered it though Checker here in town. I currently have it off my truck because even with the RCD lift it still kills my angle of approach, as well as hurting mileage. I was getting about 2 mpg average less with it on....prior to installing it I was getting 18-19.5 mpg, with it I saw as low as 15, but usually around 17 mpg.

I have an 07 FX4 and I got my brush guard off of e-bay for $250 and free shipping. It goes under the bumper and bolts directly to the frame I will look and see if I can find who I bought it from again and double check the price....Also you can see my two tow hooks there next to the front plate.

The name of the place I got mine from on Ebay was... Hunter Truck Accessories Store...He only has a Stainless one listed for $339 but if you contact him and like this style brushguard may have black ones as well or able to get them. Fast shipping from TX to WI I have to say.

Not sure on the weight of it doesn't make the front end squat like some I have seen.

Haven't had much dirt....friends dog knocked her car out of gear and her Cobalt met the front of my truck. Left a nice mark on her bumper and I just wiped the scuff off the guard. I have gone through the snow with it more recently and it works great it does catch a lot of snow on the headlight guards though. But I really like it and it takes maybe 45 minutes to install if I remember correctly. Two or 4 bolts on the frame if I remember correctly then the rest of the guard bolts to the two brackets attached to the frame. Very simple install
