I have a SnugTop Camper with a load bar system and generic Amazon Roof Basket. It works for my needs when I go camping.
I have no idea which brand my roof rack is. It came with the shell. The load bars say THULE, but I haven't seen a THULE mount that looks like mine so
Just make sure your cap has the re-enforced top to take the weight. My top is WAY too flexible - I'm sure rack mounts would pound through in record time if I had any weight up there on a rough road. The factory optional rack package included a pair of 2X3s fiberglassed into the interior of the roof to distribute the load.
Dont know how the heck i missed this thread, but anyway;
I used to carry shiny objects, so the cap was pretty much essential, as was the bed slide. But now that the bedslide is NS and removed, you actually loose quite a bit of space with it installed. I can lie down with my air matress and just barely close it all up, and its got side vent windows, so Im good in that sense.
But I want to fix the rear center light because the dill hole that installed it wired it up to the LH brake light, so when you put the turn signal on, you get the brake light light blinkblinkblinkblinks. And I want to run 12V power back there so I can have a LED light strip wired up because loading and unloading in the dark sucks.
One thing I noticed is the squat with it on. This thing is heavier, so Im going to have to beef up the suspension to cope with the extra camping crap im going to put in. Or at least those longer spring shackles for an extra couple of inches..
