Chrome or stainless steel exhaust tips

My exhaust tips have rust spots toward the back, but once to the end of the tip their is no rust (maybe a small small spot that i have cleaned) Do I have chrome or stainless steel. They are still really shinny considering they have gone through a rough mn winter full or road salt for a couple of years

I have no idea, and does anyone have any ideas how to clean
Thanks

Ya man, chrome tips look so so good in the beginning but you will soon learn that stainless is the only way to go, and they still shine very nice

Yeah, you can get a shop to cut off the tips and weld stainless ones in or you can cut them off and clamp them in place.

I opt for stainless as well, Unless you have a lot of chrome on your truck to start it stands out like a sore thumb, Now if you have say polished aluminum rims stainless with a nice satin finish looks sweet.

You also may find ones that Slip over your current tips.

There also nice because you can take scotch-brite and ad a nice grain pattern to them when they get a bit dull.
