Difference in Running Boards?
I'm trying to get my Ranger outfitted so it'll look good and Running boards/nerf bars are a must. I have some aftermarket ones mounted on the truck but I would like to swap them out for factory ones. Anyone know which ones will fit. I've heard there are about 6 different styles. You have ones for standard cab 4x2 and 4x4, then extended cab 2 door 4x2 and 4x4 and then extended cab 4 door models 4x2 and 4x4. I have an extended cab 2 door 4x4, so will the only ones that fit my truck have to be off an extended cab 4x4 or would a 4x2 fit? Will ones off a 4 door fit and look right? Someone get me straightened out.
The rear brackets are completely different.
Ask me how I know...
lol...i made the mistake of buying 2dr '07 steps for my 4dr. Then, went and bought a set of 4dr steps. I'm stuck with two steps. And soon will sell the spare set since I'm converting the 2dr bars into 4dr bars. lol.

*sigh* this is one of the reasons I took a vacation from owning fords is nothing interchanges. Well I'm on the hunt for 2 dr bars for my Ranger then. Oh does 2wd or 4wd matter on the bars?
or you could leave them for a 2dr and sell them to me this summer lol
No, drivetrain doesn't matter, just cab styles. As long as they come off of an ext. cab 2 dr you're good.
