What do you guys think of Al's Liner?

I've been trying to decide how to line my bed, and the Line-X and Rhino shops in the area want over $500 to do the job. I've researched opinions on Al's Liner and everybody that's tried it seems to love it. ...and at half the price of Line-X for a double thickness coat I'll be happy to spend a day prepping and spraying.

here's one of the larger forum threads I've found talking about it. Its 20 pages long but basically it sounds like as long as you're reasonably competent and follow instructions its a great product to apply and use.

Umm isn't a 20 page discussion enough for you to form an opinion?

Anyways, i don't know any people who have used it but i've heard its good online. I' also heard that you can buy it under a bunch of different names.

meh.. aside from one guy who posted after a year of use it was either application advice or immediate results. I'm still wondering about the long term durability.

...and yes, I DO neurotically research and obsess before taking a cup sander to my truck! ...Its either that or risk being the guy that ran out half way and tried to spread it with a push broom. :D

Well I used herculiner and was happy with it. I just read more on it by googling "als liner vs herculiner" and some guy posted showing the claims of al's were kinda bull**** and it appeared to be repackaged "scorpion liner"(maybe different spelling).

Anyways, judging by google pics it looks like herculiner anyways. All I've heard that is important is if you want it to look great(rolling it on looks very nice too) you should get a cheap spraygun and spray it on.

What kind of warranty does it carry? I have Line-X and I love it. It may cost more but the lifetime warranty is worth it if you plan on keeping your truck like I am!

It wont carry a warrenty normally because it is a Do it Yourself liner. Prep work is paramount with any roll on liner.

Ahh I guess I should ready the original post a little more thoroughly next time! I missed the DIY part! If it's still 1/2 the price I think I'd still go Line-X!
