Edge Conversion question

My truck was in an accident some time ago and I'm just getting around to fixing it. The front end was hit on the driver side and with the parts that need to be replaced I was thinking to just do a edge conversion. Do to the accident I need to replace the header panel, grill, bumper, and valance, along with a few other parts I'm sure. My question is when I look for parts they always say for 01-03 and I have a 04. What is the difference in the parts, will they not fit the 04 XL and what is the complete list of part needed to change the front end of an 04 XL to look like a edge or XLT? thanks

the 04 hood is different than the 01-03 hood, so the grill would not line up properly. If you're keeping the 04 grill though, everything else ought to bolt up just fine.

Is your grill busted too? The 01-03 bumper will bolt up alright and will fit with the 04 front end.

like kyle said the only different parts between 01-03 and 04+ is the grille and hood. everything else you can get from any edge. are you gonna be replacing with the powerdome hood too?

You should have a powerdome hood already. It is clam shelled, though. If you get a black grill, either the oem '06 stx honeycomb or a carriage works black billet, it will look real similar to the 02-03 edge. If you go with the true '02-'03 edge grill you would have to change the hood. The 'o4-'05 edge grill has the two vertical bars and are not very good looking (imo).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought all 04+ were power domed.

I want to keep the hood and just replace the damage parts. Since the hood is still in good shape just mis-aligned I sure that can be fixed. Not only is my grill cracked but also the part that surrounds the grill. What is that piece called?

The shell. If you want to look like an edge get the shell painted to match the truck and put one of three available inserts in
stock edge (will have 2 vertical bars)
black billet from carriage works will be black, but no vertical bars.
stx grill from '06.

picture this in black as one example:

Also check here for what is available from the '06 models:

Any of those will fit with no hood changes.
