Exterior door handle removal for painting

My mod list for the upcoming year include color matched front and rear bumpers and getting the door and tailgate handles painted. I was wondering how difficult it is to remove the door handles and without breaking anything needed to re-install them. I miss the way my '98 looked with the color matched door handles. Seems no matter what you do, you can't keep the black plastic ones looking good.

When I painted my door handles, I just taped up around the handles to prevent overspray, and just painted them black with clearcoat. I would've color matched the handles, but if the color didn't match almost perfectly, it wouldn't look good.

That's a good point. My old high school friend who works at his dads high end body shop said he could compensate for any kind of fade by using the light gun thing and would do the painting of all my stuff for me for a reasonable price. I definately don't want any variation in color, my beige has lots of metallic and is similar to silver (hard to match with any kind of fade) but he says they can match it exactly going by the area of the truck that it is going on. This paint color and clearcoat isn't cheap and hopefully I can get the handles and bumpers all done at once.

It costed me about $75 in paint (10 oz) to color match my front and rear bumpers.....did it myself so all it costed was the paint.
