Fender Flare Removal on 03FX4 ?

I've done a search but didn't find what I was looking for. I need to remove my stock flares and was wondering about the holes left behind. What causes the holes, one thread I was reading says there are more fasteners behind the flares. How do you get to these, do I need to remove the fender completely to remove the stock flares? I know about the fasteners along the edge of the flare, just wondering about the ones behind the flare. The reason I'll be removing the flares is to mount new extended flares so I can pass inspection.

They are a snap in type fastener. Reach around and squeeze a lil and they will come out.

on the rears and front, the very top pin is a pita....I just pulled til the pin came out. There's also those pushin rivets in the bottom ide of the the flare, where it rolls in.

What are you doing with them after you take them off? Do you think they would fit on a 2000. Because I made the mistake of putting the cut out flares on and it just killed my mpg from 17-20 to 10-13.

yea I have only added those i havent even put bigger tires yet. I dont know why it is such a huge drop. So do you think its possilbe to throw some of the stock flares on? because I had to cut a little bit of the fender out and it would look goofy as h3ll if I just took them off and drove with the cuts in the fenders.... thanks

i put edge flares on my 2000 using only molding tape and the bottom plastic rivets (didnt drill into the side of the fender)

Thanks for the help , I've got the front ones off so far and they are a pita. I couldn't reach the fasteners on the body so I just pulled till they came off. As for selling these I really can't since I've broke all the fasteners for the front. lol
