I thought an aftermarket company made those......I'll search around

Bs03fx4 08-08-2010 10:30 AM

hella makes them for the f150, but i havent seen any for rangers.

01RangerEdge 08-08-2010 10:31 AM

You're right, I think the one I saw a while back was custom

Bs03fx4 08-08-2010 10:35 AM

i was thinking about taking my grille, and some fogs to a local audio shop, and having them fiberglass it all custom. i wouldent think it would be too much cost wise, just got to cut the holes and make a trim ring.

01RangerEdge 08-08-2010 10:36 AM

The thing I would be worried about is the grill holding the lights, if the lights are too heavy and the housing heats up the grill it could make it weaker over time.

Bs03fx4 08-08-2010 10:38 AM

too be honest, its more of a looks thing for me, but functional would be good too. haha.

Bs03fx4 08-08-2010 10:39 AM

maybe, ill mount the fogs to the core support, and just make it where the grill has the opening that fit over the lights. that way the lights are fully secure and just poke through the grille.

01RangerEdge 08-08-2010 10:54 AM

Why don't you just mount them behind the grill like I have and not cut the grill?

Bs03fx4 08-09-2010 03:12 PM

idk, its more of a look thing for me so i want them to poke through the grill...just looks badass... i seen a white f150 around here with it, and it looks so mean...

When I google search you can see the pic, it takes you here, but the pic is gone.

So google "fog light grill ford ranger". you will see it somewhere

Bs03fx4 08-09-2010 09:26 PM

I PMd him, and looked at this threads, but all the pics are taken down. that mustang is style is what im looking for. Mesh grill with the fogs.

KLC 08-09-2010 09:28 PM

I think it would look good. Go for it!

Bs03fx4 08-09-2010 09:42 PM

Thanks kris, I'm thinking of picking up another grill from certifit and taking it to a audio shop with some fogs and seeing how much they will charge or fiberglass them in.

KLC 08-09-2010 09:43 PM

You could always do it yourself too. Would make a good project.

Bs03fx4 08-09-2010 09:53 PM

Yea I might see how much a shop would charge and then go from there. I really don't know how i would cut and trim run etc. Too bad mdf wood wasent water proof. Take a mdf speaker ring and mount it in the grill, cut it out and make it work. Hmmm....

Casper98 08-09-2010 09:58 PM

See if you can find one of these and take the rings off and you'll have trim rings lol

Bs03fx4 08-09-2010 10:04 PM

Haha, that might just work. Just something weather proof and mountable to the mesh. Then I'll mount the fogs to the truck and not the grill, yet have it line up so the lights sit flush with the grill.
