The Ford EVOS Concept

Interesting new concept by Ford introducing the new design language. Don't know very much other than what was said in the videos below. I believe it looks cool, don't know though if this design language will effect the Ford Truck division at all. Just because today is 9/11/11 I would just like to put a short comment, God Bless the family's that lost loved ones and God Bless the troops.

Looks like a mix of an Aston Martin and an Audi. Too bad they won't sell any

I like it though

The common powertrain idea was something developed years ago but never pursued, I'd like to see what will come of this though

@01RangerEdge
The electric focus has that same type of Aston Martin Grille, I guess that is what they will be incorporating into the new line of "futuristic."

@btm757
By the looks of things vehicles are looking more like crossovers or rather than boxes, the edgy type of flow look. The New Ford Escape coming out is loosing its boxy shape, and looks more sharper, but I believe I will still miss the box.

@98liftedranger
It is defiantly a different form of design, I like it but I know what you mean, my guess is since it looks so much like the Mazda shinari concept that Ford had some help from Mazda, after all Mazda was a huge component in developing the ecoboost engines.

This was the original idea back in 2002

Ford is moving towards this idea, but they're only looking at it from a cosmetic standpoint. It's a similar concept if you think about it.

I didn't articulate well enough in my post, but I was essentially referring to the idea from 2002.

Sure, this isn't the same thing as what the article talks about, but companies are starting to standardize their designs across different models. The way I see it, the common powertrain is the next step

Why won't any auto maker just bring back a proven, good lookin, American design...

I will say, the Evos has a relatively 'cool' look to it, but that's only because I'm mentally comparing it to the other cars in today's market

@Naughton

I don't see that happening any time soon unless if 1 of the manufactures did something like volkswagen did a little while back remaking the old original beetles to apply to the people for classics. Basically the old is gone and we are in the new, so just prize the classics and take care of them forever as well as the Ranger as it to is an icon.

i will disagree... with the NA ranger being axed, the 2011 is the last year of our trucks... EVEN if they bring the t6 here, it won't be the same... makes me proud to drive an 88 and at the same time makes me want a 2011 worse than anything because it is the last year i can get them... and i really want a RCSB 2.3/ 5 speed ranger XL...
