Front Bumper Help
Someone hit my front bumper and I need to get a new one. I have a 1999 Ranger Flareside. Is it the 98-00 bumpers that will fit my truck? How hard is it to change the bumpers, I think it is just 4 bolts right? Thanks
The bumper is pretty easy to replace and I think your right about the 4 bolts. Its alot eaiser with 2 people or if you have something to hold the bumper.
Also if you have fog lights you will probably have unplug those.

well if its like my truck u're gonan need to take out 8 bolts....and thats the lower valance. Then u would have to go from there to take off the bumper. I haven't done that..but when u take the valance off you should see what u have 2 do to take off the bumper.

When I was trying to order a new one from a place that does bumpers, they were telling me that the "splash" has a different bumper than the others. First off, I did not think that the newer flaresides were called splashes anymore and is the bumper different for a flareside?
a Splash is a whole diffrent style that doesn't have anything to do with flareside....its like a diffrent option like how theres the Edge, FX4, exc...know what i mean? So all u really need to worry about is just getting it for your model truck if u don't have a splash don't order a splash one haha.
You'd need a 98-00 front bumper. ALot of places would ask about w/ molding w/o....the molding is that plastic/rubber thing towards the top of the bumper that wraps around the corner. And obviously painted or chrome. HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A SPLASH.
I have no clue on how many mounting bolts are on the 98-00 valence, but I believe the bumper is held to the frame via 6 bolts.....4 from the top, and 2 at the bottom near the factory towhooks, or where the hooks should be.
