Herculiner

Im thinking of getting some herculiner for my bed tommorow and just wanted some feedback on this stuff. Don't want to strip the paint for a messed up liner.

its difficult to get a good result for a bedliner if you actually use the bed. It doesnt bond as great as linex or rhino, so sometimes it may gouge or stuff. Its a great product, but its not a replacement for the more expensive stuff.

this is why i used it on the side of the truck. it will hold up fine to all the trees and scratches, and wont see much activity otherwise.

I used the herculiner on the inside of my bronco. It holds up well to light stuff, however it doesn't do well with dragging sharp/heavy objects on it unless you use alot of coats.
One of the main reasons rhinoliner is so good is because they put on at least 1/8" coat of the stuff. If you were to do the same with the herculiner, it would probably be just as good.

itll hold up well were its on thick... i did one coat on my bed rails and its starting to peel off my tailgate but the floor of my bed is in fantastic shape still...

my best advice is to put the scotchbrite pad on a power sander... makes it go much faster

scotch pad? f* that! I used a wire wheel on my bed. Stuff never even attempted to peel. The one gallon is enough for a flareside but I got an extra quart this time around since I have a styleside now.

I've had it on mine for about three years now, I really like it. Just make sure you prep the bed thoroughly, otherwise it will start to wear off. I noticed the wearing mostly on my rails because of sun and rain. Didn't wear at all inside, but I had a canopy on it protecting it from the elements. Just re-applied to the rails and it looks brand new again.

I used it on the inside of my zuk. I used a paint stripper wheel from walmart's paint section in a drill and it worked well. Put it on thick like everyone else said or you will be touching it up often.

I would but I don't have that much $. Plus it's not hard to do some touch ups with the herculiner.

Take your time with the coats. Make sure coats are dry before applying more other wise you end up with pooled spots.

It holds up very well the only spots I have had it come off in the 1.5years I have had it is on the edges. Like the top of the bed rails and tailgate edges. I have dented the wheel well with concrete and none of it chipped off. I have shoveled and raked stones and dirt out of it and no problems.

It does smell very badly. You are going to get high.

i would wear something over my mouth and nose. i know someone who does spray on bed lining professionally and he told me a story where someone actually died from the fumes.

I started out with something over my mouth and nose but it wasn't doing anything. I think the only thing that would work is a gas mask.

I am thinking about painting my whole truck with this. Ive got a lot of little dents from my crash, and from shopping carts and letting my GF drive it (she keeps hitting the carport pole when she backs out GEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!

and scratches from offroading/ forest service roads.

i wanna do herculiner inside the bed, and on the lower half (less then 1 half) of my truck, and use a higher grade colored liner for the top half.

im guessing it can do it all for about 500$ and a TON of my time

oh here is some link to a place that has colored liners (a lot more spendy)

http://www.nonslipcoating.com/menu/color-chart2.gif

I will not be able to do this for a while due to not having a shop (YET)

Dude.........unless your truck is a complete trail ****, I wouldn't do the whole truck in it. It's gonna cost you more than $500 especially for the colored stuff. I got a hella deal on a gallon kit plus an extra quart to do JUST my bed. That was $90. It doesn't stand up to UV very well so doing it on the exterior is gonna look like total **** in a few months, not to mention the fact that your truck is gonna be hot as hell.

No, I recently bought Bushwacker caps and it made me cry just striping the paint in the bed. Hate that sound.

Its easy to do but it takes alot of time and sanding is a ***** by hand.
