FX4 L2 - 2piece bed cover problems

Help...
I have a 03 FX4L-II / the stock bed cover is a 2 piece foldable cover
that uses a factory key on both side,

i side - the key just turns- does not work.

Does anyone know How to remove this lock for repairs,
the clip on the inside of the comes off- but the plastic piece on the back
of the lock itself doesn't seem to come apart..

I have had some problems with mine but have always been able to jiggle it. Did you try using the lube that came with it?

It looks like this right?

Bah, it is kind of on the heavy side but damn it is nice. Mine only locks on the front half and I have the divider so I basically have a trunk. But yet the back flips over and opens up the back 60% of the bed so I can easily carry stuff and then I have the bed extender to use the tailgate while down..lol

I also, keep the divider in and the front part lacked,

but the end on the tailgate side - the key/lock seems to be messed up..

yes the cover is the same, the tailgate side- the key turns the lock, but it just spins - doesnt pull on either side..

also, about your front mud flaps, for some reason in 03 - the only put rear flaps on the trucks - need front flaps and have fender flares.

Ford OEM bed cover: It sounds like the lock or the tabs for the cables are broken/not attached. Does the key spin in the lock or does the whole piece spin?

I have had mine do that but the metal backing plate fell off. I put the metal piece back on and made a couple shims and it has worked ever since.

Mud Flaps: Yes those mud flaps were standard on all 01 Ford Ranger Edges and 4x4s. I got lucky, over the years Ford Started ditching items in order to save money. However, somebody may have taken them off yours.

I'm getting ready to buy some better mud flaps because mine don't protect my rear fender flares.

To be honest - everyone here can find parts at the dealership.. if I could afford oem parts, I would have also purchased my truck new.. Just hoping to find a place besides ford to get it... Probably check out ford by end of week, after I run into dead ends everywhere else....
