Gouged front valence
Gouged front valence
So today i decided to pain the front vailence... Well during it fell off what i was painting it on and gouged an inch worth of paint in it,... I sprayed over but you can still tell its there... Now what would i do to fix this? Take paint thinner to it or sand it down and repaint it?.. Should I redo the whole thing?
The same thing happened to me. My paint ended up shooting out weird and giving my valance polka dots so I had to sand it down anyways. I just sanded it down to get the majority of the scratch out and then bought some more Krylon Fusion and resprayed it. Looks good as new now.
i agree, use 2000 grit to smooth it out

sanding block isn't gonna do you much good on the valance since it is not a flat surface much like a car door, or hood, thanks for playing
actually i know what im talking about you might not be able to use a big sanding block but with black paint it shows all the imperfections and you can easily sand finger lines into paint esp back. the gouge might be small but he will have to sand a decent size arent to make a smooth transition.
Yup went to sand and i guess the paint didnt stick at all because i could just peal it off in big chunks... So i got some thinner and removed all the paint from the valence and got some adhesive promoter or something like that and resprayed it... just waiting for it to dry
Make sure you clean it real well before hand. I've never had Krylon NOT stick. Clean the valance with dish detergent and hot water then dry with a paper towel and then use a different rag so you can get all the little things that the paper towel leaves behind.
Thats how i preped it the first time and thats how i did it again...
