lol im just trying to stir the pot with all of you pic fiends... working yet?
taped them/prepped them for painting tomorrow |
I just finished mine, i found that the oven set at 240 for ten min work great no problem just when i removed the tape it removed some of the chrome
Need some advice on the adhesive.
I bought some GE waterproof silicone caulk. Is that the same thing as silicone adhesive? |
Thats what I used never had a problem 2 years and still holding
it says on the tube "tack free 30 min, full cure 24 hours" will i still be able to install them in a few hours on my truck and be fine? or do i need to wait until tomorrow to install them back on
Wait til tomorrow. Let it set up and cure before you do anything with them.
alright thx... guess i am driving my moms car tonight haha
i want my nightshade too!!!
You can always set them outside in the sun to cure
or if you have a heat lamp set them about 5 feet from it |
painting turned out super clean, and I am gluing as we speak. its about 80F out side right now, so they will be in the sun soon
finished, ill get pics in the morning, Turned out great though.
Only thing I did not like about this mod was pulling them apart and it took 2-3 days for completion of drying times. |
you can buy the black headlights on ebay for $106 shipped right meow. I think thats easier than messing with the oven and possibly destroying the headlights, not to mention that they might leak if you dont seal them properly
My experience is ebay lights like to leak.
AND FROM THE LACK OF PICTURES i'm guessing you must have rubberized your interior too? |
