There no insert on 06+ grilles, they all came with that open space. Some people have put mesh in there, Sonic04Edge being the most recent. I tried it and it didn't come out as good as I had hoped, sonic painted his black and it looked good though. I think that cover stopped in 03, I know my 04 didn't have it. I think Fx4wannabe had one on his 01 though.

For the bumper gap try to loosen both sides and just move it up.

I believe RangerExtreme is or was using the same style black cover thingy on his 04+ conversion, but don't know for sure what he's running currently.

I know I've not really seen a 06+ with those black cover. On older trucks, like yours or mine, they appeared on the trucks that were light colored(red, white, yellow, silver), but did not appear on dark trucks(black, blue).

Here's DisturbedESV's '08 Ranger. As you can see, it's bright Orange and didn't have anything behind the grille to hide the header panel or radiator core support. Most if not all 06+'s I've ever seen do not have anything like what you truck had in stock form to make it look better.

Shane I think he's looking more for something to stop the bugs than to hide the rad support. Thats what the video said at least.

I know that trent, I did watch the vid and listen. Point is...that black gaurd that appears on his truck stock, still got bugs all over it...what exactly is being protected by the gaurd in the first place? Wouldn't make sense if it's to protect the radiator from objects becase dark colored 01-03 non-Edge/non-4x4 trucks didn't have the gaurd and had much larger holes in the grille compared to 06+ grilles. Plus...even with the gaurd thingy, there's big holes in it to expose the radiator to fresh air.

Heres what I'd do...I'd paint the background and do the mesh insert I posted above.

Take the address of the youtube vid, see where it says v= blahblahblah? Enter the 'blahblahblah' into this format without spaces:

Oh....on the bumper fitment.....there's 4 bolts on the frame behind the bumper which mount the bumper to the frame. Loosen those bolts a little bit, adjust the bumper, then tighten the bolts.

*oops....you'll be loosening and tightening nuts, not bolts. lol.

for the bumper they make bumper fillers that help get rid of some of the bumper gap. but loosen the bolts and push up on it as far as you want it and tighten it back down. do one side at a time and you should be good to go.

edit: damn you shane

could do a rubberized coating as well. woul hold up a litte better to heat and debris and look a touch closer to factory look

edit~ the mesh is also called EXPANDED METAL. you migh check your local steel company to see if they can do it scosh cheaper... not to steal busiess from my company (lowes) but they might be a lil more

I have an 04 that I swapped an 08 chrome grille in to. I just left the opening. I find it harder picking bugs out of the honey comb than to just wash then washing them out of the radiator every once in a while.
