Who has one and where is it mounted? I am looking for a place to mount a hi-lift, a shovel, and an axe. I will eventually get a roof rack and a cap but for now I need a place.

I want one really bad. I think when I do get one I'm gonna mount it on my toolbox

 

i saw someone on here mount it to brackets on the inner side of the truck bed, i thought that was a good place for it

 

I just have the lil 48" one right now. I let it ride in the bed. I have the brackets to mount them to the inside of the bedside but dont really care for them.

I'll be picking one of the "60 ones up before to long though. The short one runs outta elevation pretty quick.

Just be carefull with them. Heck even the handles can hurt ya.

 

I got some pics of mine i'm working on getting them up, i didn't do any thing special i just used some ratchet straps between my tie downs and used those to hold my shovel and high lift in its pretty slick just release the tension on the shovel and its free and quick to put back in, the high lift i actually have to take the strap off cuz i run it through it just cuz its so much heavier

its hallow in there that does not afect the body lines..... plaus you want to get it mounted on good.

 

I know it is hollow in there but I still don't want the holes in the bed if I don't have to.

 

a 48'' hi-lift jack fits just right in my ultima toolbox. a few 2x4's on end that are notched helps keep it from sliding around.

 

Mine is mounted paralel witht he tailgate on the floor of the bed, my spare tire sits inbetween it and my tool box.

 

i got mine mounted on the right side of the bed with the highlift lock rack. i also got a short spade shovel bungied next to the highlift

 

jus wondering why no holes in the bed.

 

Cause I don't want them. Thats the only reason. Nothing else behind it just don't want to put holes in my bed.

 

Its a truck, plus yours is a 98, not an 08, put some holes in that bed...

60" hi-lift mounted with the 4xrac. Locked down with a brass lock to withstand the elements. Also, I have tonneau cover to protect the jack.

 

opens just like on the wrangler and allows the bed gate to open with ease.
this is how im doing mine accept im doubling in and makeing it into the bumper

 

where can you get one of those 4xrac's? i got a highlift and nothing to mount it with. and also where can you get the off-road bases?

 

I got mine at http://www.national4wd.com, a Canadian vendor (I'm in Canada). They also sell the bases and what not. I got my hi-lift for $40 off a used classified website, and came with the offroad base, $40, FTW!!!!!

 

I am looking at this spare tire carrier and might rig something up with this and the hi lift.

u coulde easily make that to where it was in your hitch reciever
thats what id do, that way u could take it off when needed

 

I was thinking of getting another receiver and putting it underneath mine. I'm gonna go pick it up tomorrow and get a better look at it. Also gonna pick up the hi-lift.
