Too good to be True? <<<<Linky

I found these and I have the money but for some reason I am scared to buy them unless someone here can talk me into it and convince me I am not wasting my money on imitation HIDs
I know alot of people are running them here, how did you come to the conclusion to fork the cash over to buy them?
Did you buy from ebay or somewhere else?
If somewhere else post me a few links please.
I hate to keep asking stupid questions but I don't like to feel like I am wasting my money LOL

 

thats basically the same kit i bought on ebay... a xentec kit... i think it came to about $120.

i had xenon-style bulbs before the hids, which were basically just blue tinted bulbs to give an blueish effect, but the light output was horrible. i seriously can't even describe how much better the hid's are. easily 3x brighter than my xenon style halogen bulbs, and imo way easier/less fatiguing on the eyes.

i bought the kit about a month ago, and i am having an issue with one of the bulbs where the ballast doesnt ignite it on the first try... usually i have to switch the lights off once and then back on to get the bulb to ignite... it's been an issue since i purchased it, but i havent had time to isolate it to te bulb or ballast until this last weekend. the entire kit is covered by a 2yr warranty though and the seller has been really helpful thus far. replacement bulb is already on its way :o)

 

how was the light output?

 

alrighty. I just forked out the $120for them. What the hell....why not.

 

the light output is fantastic. if youre used to regular halogens, the first time you drive your truck at night with the hids is CRAZY... at least it was for me! i love driving at night just to be able to use em ;o)

i have 6000K bulbs, and from what i've read, the 4300K - 5000K bulbs are a bit brighter. the 6000K bulbs have just a hint of blue in em

 

The higher the number on the kelvin color scale = the lower the the lumens aka brightness.

Brian.....you got a pic of 6k??? I always see folks go for the 8k or 10k....I need an actual pic of a ranger with 6k. Thanks man.

 

I'd go with 6K-8K less chance you'll be flashed by people, b/c I seen those 4K 5K, and man, they are so white and clear... burn your eyes out, lol

hey that link thats up, how'd did that plug and play work? I'd rather run my own wires instead of plugging it in like that...anyone had any issues?

 

lol you'll probably still get flashed...H.I.Ds are bright nonetheless

just seems they are really too bright... on camera no one can take a pic W/O glare... for now I'm gonna rock my Silverstars till they blow, going 1 year strong... woo

 

dang, seeing that auction even makes me want to buy them.
