Learn some better offroad driving technique. :27:

going at an angle definitely helps. but why not lift it? lifting a truck is a wonderful thing to an extent

Yeah, going head on isn't too bright, and coupled with what look like highway tires I'm sure that didn't/doesn't help. Even better, I'm betting the extra weight of the dirt bike also factored into that first pic.

I can almost guarantee him, any one of the guys on here with awesome offroad experience could school him with his truck in his current setup versus the idea of lifting it 6 inches and slapping 33s on there. It's about the lines you take offroad. Granted I lost my lower plastic valence, but I took my old 93 with 235/75/15 BFG ATs places I didn't think I could and it was 2wd with no lift!

99ranger4x4 11-30-2008 10:52 AM

so harsh! haha

i remember the day i lost my valence, good times.. good times.

robert99ranger 11-30-2008 10:57 AM

Sounds good man, get us some pics when you can.

i would :approve:

He asked what we think. I think he needs to learn better driving techniques; MAYBE get some BFG ATs for the road/offroad driving. Just because you slap a 6 inch lift on and 33s doesn't suddenly make you Bigfoot, Grave Digger or some other monster truck and all invincible offroad.

So my opinion, screw the notion of a 6 inch lift. He's already running stock ranger rims (14x7I believe...had those same rims on my 93) and probably has OEM size tires. Ditch that rim/tire setup, get some 15x7s and 235/75/15 BFG ATs. He's 18, save the lift money for gas or taking girls out.

99ranger4x4 11-30-2008 11:06 AM

he's probably half way though the install lol

i'm not arguing, just having a good time

I agree, it's all about approach angle, even with the 33's I don't believe it would make it up that straight on like that.

99ranger4x4 11-30-2008 11:10 AM

common guys, have faith.. he just needs the proper amount of skinny pedal.

elementsenjoi 11-30-2008 11:17 AM

Skinny pedal FTW!

I say lift it, but that doesn't mean you don't need to learn better techniques. I don't care how much you lift your truck, it will still get stuck.

99ranger4x4 11-30-2008 11:19 AM

seriously, his front tires are almost on the up slope. he just has to sacrifice his bumper and push through lol

Yes, but chances are you're going to have body damage.

Hell, give me enough of a running shot and I could make it up it in a Honda civic, that ***** may be totaled, but it will be at the top of the hill. :fing26:

The after edit version: She may dig the body damage, but I don't.
