I've got 2 mounted on the back most bar of my stock roof rack, but that doesn't help you any I guess...

best bet would probably be as you suggested, something to mount them two in the stake holes....or on a tool box, if you have one..

Here is my old setup with "backup" lights!

I have taken these off and sold them..I now have the Light Bar on top with two of the lights turned around!

I mounted two under my bumper next to either side of my hitch for protection
they are the KC All Purpose Driving lights they are really slim and shine a nice horizontal beam completely 180 degrees behind me.

They were only like $50 for the set and I have wired in seperate from backup lights...I'm alittle concerned about big rocks and such while offroading but it shouldn't be too bad...they are really tucked in there!

It would be intresting to mount an underbody neon tube underneth the sides of the bed out of view, to shine into the bed.

I want to mount cold cathodes under the bed rails in my bed...I have a Tonneau that will probably never come off so I can mount them to the t-cover rail.
Soons I get the extra money I'll be doing something like that. I'll take a picture of my truck soon...to show ya'll my rear mounted lights. They are really similar to BigWill's but further apart.
