Ok, I'm really itching to put some KC's behind the grill of my truck but I'm not sure how to mount them. I've seen a few trucks on here witht he fogs behind the grill so I'm looking for some info. Can anyone help me out with how to mount them behind there? I've got a billet grill so I'm not worried about melting anything.....just need a mounting idea. Thanks!

 

usually you can mount them to that center part, or from the top since I think most of that is fiberglass, shouldn't be too hard to drill into it...

 

I'll take a picture, later, of where I mounted my KC's. It's an awakward place though, as it does not allow the lights to be aimed directly ahead.

 

KCs will melt your grille. Make sure you dont go more than say 75W......grille meltage will occur if you go higher.

 

if i melt a billet grille, then the lights are way too hot lol

 

^ hes talking about the stock grille, prob didnt know you had billet... you should be fine then

So does anyone have a picture of how they installed it? I put some aftermarket fogs on my 97 by drilling through the fiberglass above the grill....but I wasn't sure if this was the best way to go for a bigger fog like a KC. I'd want to get the long range lights as I drive a lot of country back roads usually pretty late at night. I see a lot of deer and I'd like to keep them away from me.

are lights gonna shine through on a billet well enough to have them?
Would it not disperse the light unevenly

 

the billet would be so close to the actual lamp, that it won't make much of a difference. Ever placed your finger on the headlamp housing and noticed it didn't make a difference? same concept.

 

i have the stock grille

 

With the stock if you go high W you can melt it but with billet you should be fine I have thought about doing this to mine it looks good and it is very functional

 

this won't stop air from pass through the radiator will it?

 

Nah..the air will go right around them......
