Key Pad entry

Love this thing, always good to have when I go to the gym...or like today at the courthouse so I do not have to leave my keys with security at the entrance...

I highly reccommend it..if they still have them on eBay...

I need one, I really don't like carrying my keys at work, would be nice to be able to lock them in

did you not have to cut your door for that?

Definitely worth it. I never realized how handy the keypad would be until I installed it.

Mine is cut into the door but you don't need to do that any more. Ford now sells a self adhesive, wireless accessory keypad, as shown in the first post. There have been some excellent deals on these on eBay recently.

Yeah I want to do that mod as soon as I get my power locks fixed. I am gonna cut the door to do it tho. I like the look of it sitting flush better.

You will need a used keypad and control unit (such as from an early-to-mid nineties Taurus) to do it that way. The Taurus-style control unit will not work in a Ranger without some modifications. John Griggs used to modify boxes for the conversion but I don't believe he's doing that any more.

I will have to talk to him about it. He does only live 10 min from me, but it may be a winter break mod if I get the locks fixed.

I have one of the adhesive ones and I love it. I have locked my keys up in my truck so many times! It was a good investment for me and I highly recommend it to anyone else.

dont know if that would be helpful since it just disables the alarm and unlocks the door...does not pop them

I would get the wireless one in a heartbeat but from my understanding it will not work with my aftermarket car alarm. :(

This unit will only work with a Ford Keyless Entry Module. Every keyless entry system has their own unique RF(Radio Frequency). They are designed this way so that when you are unlocking your car, your not also unlocking your neighbors. And as far as I know, there is no way to change these frequencies. So your stuck with you got..
