I dont want to sound like an ungratefull spoiled teenager, but heres my story,

I had just got my new dick cepek dc2s and yoka m/ts. My dad decided to surprise me and get my truck painted for me as an 18th birthday present, He took it to maaco and had it painted , the paint looks decent for the most part but they oversprayed everything, windows, mirrors, ford ovals, suspension, door and tailgate handles,exc... i took it back today and had them clean the overspray off of the wheels they said no problem itll only be 10 min, an hour later i was told only a few more minutes, when they pulled it around i looked at it and it was still unsatisfactory so i told them they needed to take it back in and clean it, about 30min later they brought it back out and it looked good enough. Then the guy bassically told me it was my fault the overspray happened because I have oversized tires (31x10.50s) and there tire covers wont fit, i said ok(knowing for a fact i was talking to an idiot) but what about the windows and mirrors exc. he went on to tell me that overspray would happen no matter what unless you completely taped it up (no crap really??)... I said a few things and called him a few names im not going to repeat and left

1. Ive heard that maaco gets nothing but bad reviews but my dad was the one who took the truck in and im not going to complain about that

2. I may be a dumb kid, but Ive watched enough pimp my ride and overhaulin to know that your going to get overspray if you dont do all of the prep work the correct way

3. They also took a week longer than what they originally told my dad

sorry I had to vent.

 

Dude that sucks. If your gonna go with macco you might as well do it yourself. Threaten with a law suit for the glass and get your money back.

 

This is how a car should look when it's masked in the spray booth. All of the jambs are bagged just as tightly. (my car when I shot it at work)





The Maaco manager's excuse is laughable. If you dropped it off there he should have done a better job at masking, but at the same time, Maaco works with production as the primary focus. I know it will suck cleaning up their mess, but at the least you have some fresh paint out of it. Just tell Pops thank you and do your best to keep the truck clean. If you still aren't happy with it, give painting a shot yourself down the road. It can be fun but to do it right it's a ton of work. (see above pics again lol)

 

Im super gratefull and i will probly hold on to this truck untill it rusts into nothing and i have to flinstone her around, Im going to get some paint thinner to try and remove what i can and some black touchup paint to fix the window trim, heres a link to my photobucket http://s1138.photobucket.com/albums/...sob2012ranger/

what are your sugestions for my future mod ideas
-hitch(im not towing but ive seen my dads old lightning get saved by a towball)
-seat covers(mine have stuffing comming out of the drivers side)
-grill gaurd(i dont know about this, i kinda like the clean look it has now but i want some kc lights)
-blackouts or smoked headlights
-window tint
-headache rack( im afraid it will start looking like an old work truck but it is another option for mounting offroad lights

any thoughts?

 

another macco ftl, surprise. unless you agree'd to prep the truck and they were only to spray it is 100-150% their fault. 31's come stock on some rangers, the owner of that shop just wanted to make a buck off you.
