Mounting toolbox Help!

I was thinking of using Rivet nuts to mount my toolbox to my bed rails, so that when I need to take off the box and put it back on, all I need to mess with is 4 bolts and not have to wrestle a nut on under a bed rail.

Does anyone know if rivet nuts are reusable, in the sense that I can take a bolt in and out, in and out, and a few times over again? I'm going to need to take my toolbox off to haul my dirtbike around a few times a year, and go camping with my truck tent... If not, does anyone know of something I can drop into the rail to give me a tapped hole?

Can I tap the bedrail? Or is it too thin?

just drill a hole in the toolbox and then then bed rails and drop a screw through, no real need to tighten it. or just throw some wing nuts on the bolt if you want it secured. wont take very long to unscrew it.

I drilled a small whole in each corner and used a caraige bolt with the nut inside the box , to keep it secured .

I use them at work a lot installing door hardware. I personally wouldn't try using them for your application. They're nice and will hold well if left alone, but after repeated install/uninstall of your box they could get fatigued. I recommend J-hooks or mine is in there with topper clamps. Hope this helps.

Yea, my Delta came with two small J-hooks. I went over to the Do-It Center and picked up 4 heavier duty ones. A lot more sturdy with those.
