Mud flaps or no mud flaps????

Should I take them off or leave them??

pastfinder Apr 5, 2007 04:07 PM

Change the rear brake light first...the mudflaps, being black, blend with the scheme. The red stands out like crazy.

yellow rhino Apr 5, 2007 04:07 PM

No mudflaps! i just took mine off and it looks so much better in the rear.

camodown Apr 5, 2007 04:09 PM

I took mine off a long time ago and I like it a lot better that way.

Lose em

puma768 Apr 5, 2007 04:10 PM

took mine off the day i got it much nicer without them

mmulkey6 Apr 5, 2007 04:15 PM

Suggestions for the third brake light?

pastfinder Apr 5, 2007 04:22 PM

Could go with a billet overlay to cover up a good amount of the red...

tonkaranger04 Apr 5, 2007 04:32 PM

OFF. looks lots and lots better

mmulkey6 Apr 5, 2007 04:50 PM

I really like them so far. Great all around tire. No road noise, and pulls well when needed. I now have 13,000 miles on them and no complaints.

rangerkidSHSU Apr 6, 2007 10:19 AM

Eh, Looks not better or worse to me, but I not as anal about Mud flaps as most people here. I still don't get how it is the first thing you guys are drawn to.

But for those guys here you go

that just shows how old you are...

why would i want a mud catcher that is only half the width of my tires?

Because it protects the paint from getting all those rock chips. If you like the looks without the flaps that is your choice. I hate rock chips.

Yes, I'm old. :silly:

LOL I bet we were born in the same decade (I'me 25)! I'm not exactly collecting Social security here! Don't judge me by my cars!

Plus its not just that they don't cover the whole tire, Mine did on my 04 and I still got grief about mud flaps. I am a Big Car guy. I look at cars all day long. I have car magazines coming out of my ear and unless someone mentions it, I have no idea if a car has Flaps or not. I don't even know if my Buick has them or not? I think not, but I honestly don't know. I do know my first one did because I melted it with hot rubber! :icon16:

as a real oldster(LOL) here, my opinion is this: the mudflaps serve numerous purposes: to keep rocks from flying up into the car behind you and breaking their windshield and to keep your truck from getting all dinged up. also, many states have laws stating that all trucks must have rear mudflaps.

rondog Apr 6, 2007 03:32 PM

I got a fix it ticket for not having mud-flaps..lame!..I put them on got it signed and took them off again :P

whippersnapper02 Apr 6, 2007 04:11 PM

I don't like how they look but I would only leave them on because the tire likes to throw crap on the taillight and surrounding area.
