"rednek": Did your grille come with the "shell" around the grille itself? Mine didn't.

Or did you have to mod your stock grille shell (the surround part, the bezel, or whatever you call it)??? On the 07, the only way to get the billet grille to fit would be to butcher the surround bezel which would most likely look right ghetto...

no mine didnt come with a shell. with mine i had to take the inside grill out which it broke so be careful if you want to keep it. then i drilled some holes in the shell at the bottom and some at the top right behind the shell. mine was pretty easy. i can get pics but it will be a few days, parents took my camera on there trip.

Sounds as though your blaming him on that. Fact is that people have made that grille(or very similar) work, using the existing 06+ grille housing, and putting the billet in the holes in the grille.

Don't blame someone for your lack of researching. Should be able to tell by the thousands of pics on this site the difference between a 04/05 grille vs. 06+.

I ain't hatin', i'm just sayin'.

If anyone wants to buy a nice brand new black grille (with all of the hardware) like rednek's for an 04 or 05, PM me. If no good offers I am sending it back to mfgr.
Ok Captain Douche, you should have done more research on this. ALWAYS get multiple peoples opinions on something, cause one person could be wrong just like I was. I'll admit that I know a lot about these trucks, but I made a mistake. That was a dick move calling me out like that when you should have done the research before you bought it. Hey doesnt bother me any though, I'm not the one with the extra grille.

woah....not to be hatin', but you being a 9 post newbie talking like that to a well known member who made an honest mistake. Yea, he shouldn't have typed what he did in post #36...overreaction in my opinion. But you still should have researched it better. Call me the "middle man".

I just picked up a 99 and I'm playing with some ideas since the grill is cracked. I'd need a new assembly to make this grill work but it looks pretty sexy.

you'll need more than that to make this grill work on your 99.

header panel, headlamps, corners, grille, hood....those are the major items needed.
