My 06 tails look like they don't sit as flush to the body as my original lights, do you guys who have them have to do any trimming as far as mounting goes? I already modded them to accept 3 bulbs so a little more work won't bother me any

 

on my 2001... as far as trimming on 3rd gen, i'm not sure

 

They do stick out a bit more than the older tail lights. I noticed that on an 07 I saw driving, the lenses stuck out maybe 1/2" from the bed.

 

they all sit like that, i think its so you can clean behind the edges because they are more transparent then the older tails.
im about to post some new pics of my truck, check it out.

 

i've never had a problem with mine, and they have been on there for almost 2 years

 

i think hes talking about how they sit out a little more then all of the older ones. mine only stick out a little more then the old ones, nothing noticeable, i looked at a new 07 and it looked the same as mine.
they have a pin that makes it sit out a little more at the top, if you really wanted you could cut it off.

 

want new ones i have extra? :)
