im getting a 3" body lift and planning on getting some stock nerf bars to cover the frame up...but some pictures i see the nerf bars hang down and sometimes there is no gap...how do you go about getting the nerf bars raised up to the bottom of the cab, so they look right and dont hang down...are there mounting points on the body or something?

any pics or explanations are appreciated
JIM

I'd imagine that most folks who do that are having custom brackets welded.

Whats a ballpark cost for getting a rollpan painted?

I believe the stock ones mount to the body so you wouldn't have to worry. Also I know N-fab's do but they are pretty pricy.

Westin mounts straight to the body and lift with the body lift. They are pretty reasonable in price as well. here are a few pictures: http://community.webshots.com/album/152711458ppcxzp

What?? You can't stand on the bars when they are mounted on the body? I have the westins and they are attached to the body, and basically use them everyday to get up in the truck since its lifted now..I would stand up on the bars too and nothing happens...You can still use it either way(frame or body mounted)...
