Icon5 Roof rack?

ok so ive got a idea im pretty sure someones already done this many times but could i use these http://www.jcwhitney.com/GARAGE-PRO-...1196_10614.jcw
to put a roof rack like some of the explorers have on thier roofs were i can hold a spare tire up their a high jack lift and put some lights on it and a shovel and a tow rope you know just normal offroad accessories

i have a could friends that can weld aluminum so i figured if i got the bed rack id weld them together and put supports on the roof rack so it couldnt cave in or anything like that

ima search around some more and try to find the ranger i got the idea from and yall just give me yalls opinions

because id like that extra room since i usualy have my tool box and spare tire laying in my bed and i like the roof rack because i can mount fog lights on it buy a roll bar takes up room in the bed and i cant use my low profile tool box with a roll bar so the roof rack would give a stylish look give me a place for my oversized spare tire and extras while leaving me the space for my tool box and i can actualy carry a dang ice chest or something i need in the bed of my truck with less worries about it blowing out

any other opinions or ideas possible links to everything i need?

I wouldnt recommend putting your spare up there.. thats quite a bit of dead weight for your roof to be handling...

I disagree. As long as the rack the spare is on is mounted properly, there shouldn't be any problems.

If you don't mind drilling into your roof you can get a Defender Series roof rack. I have been thinking of getting a Shell and mounting one on top. They have accessories to add like a light bar, high low jack, tool kit, and spare tire mount.

I plan on doing the same thing when I get a cap. Only having a bigger basket
