Ok, i saw a a "how to" yesterday on how to nightshade, so i decided to go for it. It came out pretty good in my opinion. What do you guys think? It think i'm going to do the headlights tonight.

you need to clear coat them

 

I did clear coat them. 5 coats of nightshade, 2 coats of clearcoat.

 

they dont look shiney at all, did you wet sand them?

 

Honestly i don't know what wet sanding is, but i sanded them.

 

nightshading headlights is stupid, your loosing light that your gonna need at night just because you want different looking headlights. one coat or maybe two would be fine but more than that in my opinion is just dumb.

 

getting 2000 grit sand paper and dipping it in a bucket of water while sanding. you should try it. works great on alot of things like getting that haze off headlights.

 

i dont like shaded tail lights. good looking car though, those fusions are nice

I think it looks pretty good... I probably wouldnt have gone that dark but thats just me.

If i get the 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand them now, is it going to take the paint off off the tail lights?? Cause i don't want to redo them. And yeah, for the headlights, i'm only going to put 2 coats.

I like the look alot, but you got to wetsand those to get them nice and shiney. It looks like flat black.

 

Way too dark, looks bad in my opinion. Two coats may have been okay, but not that dark.

Niteshading the headlights is retarded.

 

Looks like you got dry spray in the clear coat. When you use clear coat in a spray can you need to hit it with heavy coats or else it will have a flat look and not be shiney. I say pull them off and hit it with a couple of heavy coats.

Tails look alright and I would never think about doing the headlights.

 

nightshade+clear lens lights= FTL. painting just the chrome body color would have looked way cleaner.

 

To flat and blotchy looking. I dont think its that dark but you need to take it to a body shop and have them put 2 coats of clear on them and they will POP!

another thing, Don't do the headlights!!! those are expensive if you mess up... if you want to nite-shade something paint those amber signals on the fenders...

other then that, get the rears nice and shiny and I think it will look good!

 

You can do the front with tinted clear coat. Trick to doing it this way is thin layers so you can regulate the darkness. I of course would practice a few times before trying it on her car.
