Yeah my 95 was clean up to the day it was totalled, but the 03 I bought has the same exact problem on the inside of the passenger door, hasnt started on the drivers yet.
Last winter I took a wire wheel to the inside knocked as much rust and paint off as I could and used rustoleum primer on it, lasted most of the summer, but the rust came back, So Just last week I picked up a por15 starter kit, and the next nice saturday or sunday we have in Indiana, which will be rare, but the next non raining above 45 degree day we have..THIS IS GETTING done, and if not now, I will do it at christmas while im in alabama.

I have it on my 08 too. I noticed it almost a year after i bought it. i have 70k on mine

It's just another example of the backwoods engineering everywhere in this truck.

look at it this way : maybe now the truck will get better mpgs since it's a tad lighter

or for for-shadowing's sake :

Do nothing, wait another year or so, and the tailgate will match the doors

its just about paid off so i think i'm just going to swap it for a new f-150. i'm thinking the regular cab RWD STX with a cap would make a great service vehicle.

My 01 has that too. I just sprayed Rust Stop on it years back and it has never gotten any worse.
